Use these short reflection guides on your own, with your spouse, or before a coaching conversation. Do not rush to solve everything. Notice what deserves your attention first.
Personal clarity
What season am I really in?
What feels life-giving right now?
What feels heavy, unclear or unfinished?
What is one step I already know I need to take?
Healthy relationships
What does this relationship need?
Where are we connecting well?
What conversation have we been avoiding?
What would honour, honesty and care look like now?
Healthy leadership
Who is carrying the leader?
What am I carrying that no one knows about?
What must I own, release or delegate?
Who knows me beyond my role?
Reflection creates awareness. Coaching helps turn awareness into intentional action.
Coaching should feel clear, safe and purposeful. Here are answers to questions people often ask before taking the first step.
What is coaching?
Coaching is a focused, collaborative conversation that helps you understand where you are, clarify where you want to go, and take practical responsibility for moving forward. A coach listens, asks thoughtful questions, offers perspective and helps you turn insight into action.
Is coaching the same as counselling or therapy?
No. Coaching is generally future-focused and growth-oriented. It does not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions and is not a replacement for therapy, medical care or crisis support. If another kind of care would serve you better, that can be named honestly and respectfully.
Do I need to be a Christian?
No. Otanga Coaching is faith-informed and welcoming. Your beliefs and boundaries will be respected. Faith can be included naturally when it is meaningful to you, without pressure or assumption.
What happens during a discovery call?
It is a relaxed, no-pressure conversation about what brings you to coaching, what you hope will change, and whether Otanga Coaching is the right fit. You can ask questions and leave with greater clarity about the next step.
Can couples or family members participate together?
Yes. Coaching can help couples and families strengthen communication, clarify expectations, navigate transition and create healthier relational patterns. The discovery call helps determine who should participate and what kind of process would be most useful.
Is coaching confidential for pastors and ministry leaders?
Confidentiality and dignity are central to the coaching relationship. The discovery conversation is also the right place to discuss expectations, professional boundaries and any limits that apply before coaching begins.
What if I am not sure which coaching service fits?
You do not need to decide before reaching out. Share what you are facing on the discovery-call form, and the first conversation can help clarify the most appropriate coaching pathway.
Your next faithful step
You do not need all the answers to begin.
Bring the real question, the strained relationship, the leadership pressure, or the sense that something needs to change. We will begin by listening carefully and clarifying what support would serve you best.
